The OPD Room of the Prisons Hospital (PH) at Welikada was renovated by the MBA Alumni Association of the University of colombo together with PCAG Relief, a voluntary organisation.
 
The renovated building was ceremonially declared open by the Commissioner General of Prisons, Maj.Gen.V.R.Silva, Mr.Amarasena of PCAG Relief and the Neil Perera, President of MBA ALumni Association, University of Colombo on 15th July 2009.

The event was attended by a number of ExCo members, i.e. Anusha, Hemantha, Indika, Hilary and Chris. The Prisons were represented by many officials and medical staff including, Mr.S.P.W.M.R.B.Wickremasinghe, Superintendent of Prisons; Mr.K.K.S.U.Ranjan, Chief Jailor of Prisons; Mr.Ebert Wijesuriya, OIC Prison Hospital; Dr.(Mrs.) Benita Weerasinghe, Medical Officer OIC; P; Mr.Robert Rahim, Honorary Welfare Officer, Prisons. The ASP Welikada Police and many other officials were present.

'Anushasana' was delivered by a senior Buddhist Priest from the area. Addresses were made by some of the dignitaries present who thanked the Association, PCAG Relief and others who funded the project and completed the facility which was a long overdue need in the PH that serves many prisons. Formerly the OPD was carried out in the open or in a corridor. All who spoke were grateful to the MBA alumni and others who were welcome to continue the good work started. 

We thank all who helped complete this final project in the present President Neil Perera's calendar of events in time for the AGM. Special thanks to Sarma Mahalingam and Hemantha De Silva members of the Exco.
