BUDGET SEMINAR 2007

Colombo MBA Alumni Association conducted a seminar on "BUDGET 2007" at the Hotel Taj Samudra on 1" November 2006, targeting top business people in the country. The resource personnel at the seminar were:

Mr. Ajith Nivard Cabraal, delivered the Keynote Address at the seminar. He discussed the salient features of the Budget 2007 in macroeconomic perspective. Mrs Lakmali Nanayakkara delivered her speech on "Highlights of Budget 2007" where she discussed the provisions in the Budget 2007 in detail. Mr. Mahinda Samarasinghe discussed the Budget proposals in macroeconomic perspective. Mr. N.R. Gajendran critically analyzed the Budget highlighting both negative and positive aspects of the Budget. Mr. Premaratne Banda analyzed the budget in revenue perspective and highlighted the difficulties he face in achieving revenue targets. Seminar was well attended and about 160 top business people participated the seminar.
